Joseph B. Robins CPA

Joseph B. Robins is the owner and founder of J. Robins CPA, LLC. Mr. Robins is a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and a 2009 graduate of Scotlandville Magnet High School. It was during his tenure at Scotlandville in which his interest in the financial services industry began. As a student enrolled in the business development program he was enrolled in courses that focused on accounting, business management, and entrepreneurship. Upon graduation he ultimately decided to continue his post secondary education as an accounting major at Southern University and A&M College of Baton Rouge.

While at Southern University, Joseph was actively involved in various organizations such as the Black Executive Exchange Program, Pi Sigma Epsilon Sales and Marketing Fraternity, Beta Gamma Sigma Academic Honors Society, the College of Business Student Leadership Council, a four-year member of the Southern University  “Human Jukebox” Marching Band, and a Spring 2013 initiate of the Beta Sigma Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated. During his tenure Mr. Robins immersed himself with various professional development opportunities by taking part in the University of Southern Mississippi British Study Abroad Program, the Thurgood Marshall College Fund Leadership Conference, and the UNCF Gateway to Leadership internship program. Through these programs Mr. Robins was afforded the opportunity to spend summers in London, England and New York City to further develop industry expertise and gain real world experience in the financial services industry. Mr. Robins graduated as Chief Marshall of the College of Business with Latin Honors and dual degrees in Accounting and Finance.

Upon graduation Mr. Robins began his career as a staff accountant in audit & assurance services. While employed Mr. Robins obtained a significant amount of knowledge in the accounting industry and was able to successfully pass all four required sections of the Certified Public Accounting examination. Mr. Robins was officially licensed in December of 2015 making him the youngest practicing Black CPA at the firm.

 

In 2017 Mr. Robins decided to leave his prior place of employment and establish his own practice in J.Robins CPA, LLC. Through the firm Mr. Robins provides small business bookkeeping/accounting, business consultation, and individual/business tax planning services. In conjunctions with being the owner/president of J. Robins CPA, LLC Mr. Robins also serves as the Global Tax Centers Senior Vice President and Affiliate Owner of the Florida Territory.  Mr. Robins plans to use his various platforms to continue providing sound financial advice and services to clients, and aims to positively impact the daily lives of the people in his community through his leadership and good works.
